Welcome

Well, I'm new at this and I'm guessing some of you are too. Here is the new weblog (Blog) for FLY MX PARK.

The track was fantastic wednesday for practice. The rain really helped us out a bunch. We will be adding more sawdust before the race this weekend so look forward to a great loamy track! I'll try to post back here often. Please feel free to ask any questions!

Thanks

Hey guys. I wondered what you are going to do about winners in the classes if most of the classes do not have people who raced 12 races. Are you going to cut it back to so many races or just not have winners at all? Just wondering.

Anonymous said...

Answer! Our series is 13 races that we cut down to 12 and, added 1 race to our schedule. We will be giving awards to racers with 8+ races. Thanks Big Guy #100

does fly mx park require ama liscense? and is it ok to wear clothes other than riding gear(pants-shirt-boots) i know that usual stuff to be worn! i was just curious on what gear was acceptable, and also i noticed the track is not open every weekend,is the sched, that is on the web site correct? or do you just have paractice sessions on non race weekends
thanks
*Want To Race For 1st Time*

Anonymous said...

Hi 1st timer, you don't need an AMA card to race at Fly. You need long sleves, helmet, eye protection, boots with ankle protection,(dont have to be mx boots)thether switch for quads, and # plates if your racing.THANKS to Greg our web. is up to date all the time.We practice Wed. at 2:00 PM,and Sun.at 12:00 noon on weekends that we dont have a race. Come out and, have some fun.Thanks.

I was real disappointed in the awarded this was my first year and it seemed like if you road a quad you got nothing but if you rode a bikes you got a lot of stuff. I thank quads worked just as hard as bikes.I just hope it is not the same next year if so you will be losing around 4 to 5 familes! For my family is a quad family and will be are first full year.so I hope my kids will not be disappointed.

Anonymous said...

Dear Anonymous, every one got the same trophy, magnet, and champ shirt from Fly Mx Park. All the other stuff came from our sponsors. Some want to give to one brand of bike, some may want to give only to the brand they sale, or to the people that bought bikes at there shop. So is your shop that you deal a sponsor at Fly ? Moose, was good to us, but every one is cutting back this year. Somthing you may not know if you have not run a series is that most dont give to every rider that does the whole series awards, like the classes that only have one, or two in the class. I have run alot of them and, I'll tell you that I was happy to get what I got, and it was not as good as our riders got. We put alot of time in getting awards for our riders. If you can get a better bang for your buck go for it. There are tracks outlawing quads everyday.

Anonymous said...

Response to disgruntled quad "anonymous". The crew at Fly MX have done there best to run a fair and unbiased track. The best way to get what you want is to 1)Buy some land 2)Procure the necessary equipment/materials to build and maintain a track(bulldozer, tractor, cultavator, water truck, source of water, water pumps, fuel, trash cans, sign up trailer, radios, etc) 3)Hire attorny for legal advice operating a track and buy insurance 4)Build a spectator fence, flag stands, bleachers, 5)Rent porta johns and trash dumpster 6)Hire track workers (flag men, scoring crew, sign board, gate man, annouceer, equipment to keep track of scoring, people to pass out trophies, scoring sheet runner, people to collect entry fees at entrance and at sign up, stc.) 7)Run concessions stand 8)Buy trophies for winners and have cash for payout races 8)Get contract for EMS(ambulance) 9)Hope for enough competitors to pay bills 10)Hope for good weather so you dont have to listen to people whine 11)Get sponserships
This list by any means is everything required to operate a track. So set your track up for quads, get some quad dealer sponserships, get your 4 to 5 anonymous quad families together and have a good time and be sure not disappiont anyone at the awards.

Looking at photos in the "Back in the day" section it appears that you where involved in MX more than I knew. These photos and the photo albums you had at the track one day shed a whole new light on your association with the MX sport to a level that myself and probably others are unaware of.
How about laying that microphone down for few minutes and taking a few laps around the track on raceday? If your feeling like you might be a little out of practice, maybe Guy can run you through an accelerated "Fly MX School" session. Remember the best tune up is a faster you.
I myself and several others would love to see you do it.
What do you think?
GO FOR IT!
Suit up Big Dan and Kent your next!

Thanks to you I am riding the best I have ever ridden. We have been running the Loretta Lynns qualifiers and thanks to your school Drew and I have qualified for 2 regionals each. Hopefully after the qualuifers slow down we can make it back up, but untill then Thanks for all the help and have a good Moto Season.

Brandon, thanks for the words. We miss you all to.It was good to see you, and your fast little brother at the track last Sunday, hope I helped you some.Remember those guys at the qualiefers have the same preasure you do.You have to think its a three moto race so keep your head up,and dont give up if you have a bad moto.If you get in great,if you dont your just two of 10,000 that tried. You can always come back to Fly for some fun, and good racing.

MXyfz450 said...

Hey Guy its Kris Kosem, havnt been down since the second race because the race days where taking too long, it wasnt like that last year, and i finally realized that everyone that rides quads gets looked over every race, i have yet this year to read about someone that has rode a quad on the race stories and that last year it seemed everyone that rode a dirtbike got better and way more prizes for the championship. So thats why i quit coming down to race. I would like to come back and race again.

cod duaq said...

MXyfz450, your courage to use your real name in your blog is to be commended. You said what was on your mind and you did not hide behind the name of "Anonymous said". Your last statement said you would like to come back and race again. Why let a story line, a late day, a year end prize keep you from racing?

MXyfz450 said...

Thats not the only reason im not racing down there, they always look over the people that race quads. We are almost always the last people to race on a race day unless the track is really muddy then we get to go first just to dry it up for the dirtbikes, why dont the quads get to go first on a nice day? And with the race stories every week its the same people every week, like last yr. in the quad amateur class they talked about the same guy every other week and i held my tongue. let other proplr have some glory come on.

Track is owned and operated by a private group of indivduals who choose to run it the way they see fit. Its called free enterprise. The success or failure of their venture is dependant on their methods of operation.

MXyfz450 said...

One more thing i have been wanting to know, If your going to race that day why shoyuld have to pay to get into the track?

eerf rof ecar said...

MXyfz450 there is place for you to go race and be happy! It's called "MXyfz450 Fantasy Park". Here is a few things from their flyer:
Quads only, no dirt bikes!
No entry fees, that right no entry fees! You dont even have to wear a wrist band.
Free gas, free food, free drinks, free parts, and all kinds of other free stuff to numerous to mention.
Front row pit parking complete with shade tree.
Gate pick! Race starts when you start.
You win every race!
Pick your prize for winning! The list includes: "BIG" trophy(25 footer)and whatever you want.
Full page photo and write up on the track website, 40 by 60 billboard at the track and your local newspaper.
Pre and post race interviews with the track announcer.
Ticker tape parade in your honor in the city you choose.
Hey the list go's on and on.

Address? Follow your dreams and you have arrived.

Chris, leave your mowerdeck on and maybe Guy will let you cut the grass to race

mulcher blade said...

Reference to mower deck comment.
At Fly Mx they don't treat the mower deck class as good as they treat the weed eater class! They make the mower deck class go first so they can knock all the big stuff down making it easy for the weed eater class.
At the end of the year awards several prizes of 1000 foot rolls of .085 weed eater string were given out and not one mower blade was given out as an award to mower deck class! The push mower class winners got new spark plugs, NGK for first place, Champion for second and third place.

I'm taking my Dynamark somewhere else to run!

Why are you keeping your name anonymous are you afraid of someone? I wrote all of this becasue there was something that i wanted to know and why FLY does things the way they do i wasnt trying to start anything with anyone, infact i was down there last sunday for practice, the track is great. So i will be back down

The Doctor said...

MXyfz450.
Im sure it wasnt your intent to start a fued with anyone. You entered comments on a blog that to some may have been a little upsetting. If you had questions you should have asked them in a way that someone would answer you without content.

You made statements. When statements are made that may rub someone the wrong way you can expect the outcome that you got.
May first impression was you were trolling for a response like some bloggers do to generate conversation. I dont think that is the case here and you as you say it just looking for some answers.

Questions when asked may not generate the answer you want to hear. Ask your question in a way that encourages a response that is honest and be be prepared for the answer whether you like it or not. Misunderstandings are a common thing these days and blogs certainly do compound the problem. On the good side blogs can provide good information and answers to questions people such as youself might have. So when you blog be prepared to hear an answer from another point of view that may differ from yours.

Your question to anonymous asking if they are afraid of someone can be looked at in several ways. First off yes they might be afraid of someone. It might be you and it may be someone or something else. Fear generates thoughts and feelings on a level that only that person is experiencing. Secondly some people are shy in person but give them an outlet in a blog and lookout! Enough said on that. Third everyone has opinions and ideas that are the same or may differ from yours. Fact of life on this one.
This list goes on and on.

Here is something for you to think about. One may or may not know who you are MXyfz450. Some people might think you are afraid because you use MXyfz450 said. In their line of thinking it may not be any different than using anonymous said. MXyfz said merely gives a reference to the blogger.

Face to face opinions and ideas flow freely and they flow even more freely on the blogs!

You may be thinking that these are just my opinions and ideas and you would be correct. I would not have it any other way.

If you have a 2 gallon gas tank and it contains 1 gallon of gas and the equivalent volume of air to 1 gallon of gas, is your tank half empty or half full?

Looking for your reply MXyfz450 and all others as well.

I wasnt trying to start anything with anyone, i just wanted to know why something where done the way they where.Im having second thought about ever coming back down to the track becasue people who are on this blog that reads these probly will look at me in a different way now and maybe hate the fact that im even there.

I just wonder what it takes to get mentioned or noticed? I have been watching Steven Glendenning race for 2yrs. now, and he has come a long way just this year! He hardly ever misses a practice, and has missed only 1 race this season. Steven is the pionts leader in the 125cc class, and 4th or 5th in the 250cc class that should be good enough to mention in my book! Steven finished 2nd overall in the 125cc class and fouth in the 250cc class on sat., 2nd overall in the 250cc class on sunday. I know the boy is fast, but not so fast he can't be seen! GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE 2009 SEASON #5!
